Ruth Walden Vandersloot, 97 of Rock Hill, SC passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 24, 2012 at Wayne T Patrick Hospice House.

Ruth was born April 12, 1915 in North Adams, Ma. a daughter of Joseph H and Sarah A Walden. Ruth, a long time resident of Rome , NY, was married to Henry C. Vandersloot on August 6,1941 at the St. John's Episcopal Church in Williamstown, Ma. Ruth was a 1932 graduate of Williamstown High School and Lasell Junior College in 1934. Ruth and Henry moved to Rome, NY in 1946, where they lived until 1997. More recently Ruth resided in Sarasota, FL and Rock Hill, SC. While in Rock Hill, Ruth lived with her son Rick and for two years at Park Pointe Village, Rock Hill.

Ruth is survived by her son Rick of Rock Hill, SC; son Peter of Sarasota, FL; daughter in laws Joan of Rock Hill, SC and Ilona of Sarasota, FL; grandson Peter Vandersloot of Old Lyme, CT; granddaughter Susan Vandersloot of Anaktuvuk Pass, AK, and Janina Bracht of Sarasota, FL; great grandchildren Tucker, Greyson, Briar and Zosha of Old Lyme, CT.

A graveside service will be held at the Eastlawn Cemetery in Williamstown, MA.
