Doretha W. Berry of Rock Hill, South Carolina, departed this life on Sunday, June 06, 2021. She was a native of York County, & was the daughter of the late parents, Mr. George Walton, Sr. & Mrs. Katherine Roseboro Walton. She was preceded in death in 2006, by her late husband, Mr. Willie J. Berry.

 

Ms. Berry was educated in the public schools of York County & was a woman of faith, who in previous years worked in various auxiliaries of the United Methodist Church, including the United Methodist Women, the Gospel Chorus, Church Treasurer, & Sunday School Scholar. Later in life she became affiliated with the Fort Mill Church of God in Fort Mill, SC.
 

Ms. Berry was an excellent seamstress & was employed in the Alterations department at Belk in Rock Hill, for over 20 years, & was later on inspired to open her own sewing & alterations shop called, "Sew Biz." She later on retired from her business in 2009. Her skills cannot be replaced & are missed very much. Her family will miss numerous things about her, including her beautiful smile!

 

Left to cherish her memories are her son, Mr. Horace L. Berry of Rock Hill; two daughters, Mrs. Phyllis B. Brevard (Darrell Sr.) &  Mrs. LaToya B. George (Antonio), both of Rock Hill; two grandchildren, Mr. Darrell Brevard, Jr. & Miss Katia George, both of Rock Hill; one sister, Ms. Janice W. Simrill, of Georgia, two brothers, Mr. Frazier Crawford & Mr. Bobby Walton (Linda) both of Rock Hill; one uncle, Mr. Emore Walton, of Mooresville, NC & a host of nieces nephews, & other relatives.
 

Graveside Services will be held 11:00am Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Grandview Memorial Park on Cherry Road.

The family of Mrs. Berry would like for her friends to visit them at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home between the hours of 6:00pm and 7:30pm Tuesday evening.
