A native of Kolomotu’a Nukualofa, Tonga, Mrs. Taufa was a daughter of the late Charles Round and Meleane Tu’itupou. Fane Laisa Round Taufa, like most mothers, grandmothers and great-grandmothers, enjoyed spending time with her family. One of her favorite hobbies was to cook and bake for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was truly a people person for she was very at ease in meeting anyone from any diverse background. Families, friends and those that met her, warmed to her heartfelt energy and loyalty. She loved reading her scriptures daily and used to share them with her loved ones. She got to know God, the Father as he really is, by finding joy in serving others. She was blessed tremendously.
Surviving are three sons, Tomasi Taufa, Sosaia Taufa, and Siale Taufa; three daughters, Lilika ‘Eliesa, Akata Tyson, and Tavina Tejada; a brother, Rev Kisepi Havea; two sisters, Viola Round and Lolofi Round Heimuli; 22 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Kalolaine Round Vea; and three brothers, Foueti Taungahihifo, Tavui Taungahihifo, and Kafa Taungahihifo.
