Iris H Shillinglaw

     Iris H. Shillinglaw, 82, passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at her home.

     A native of Rock Hill, SC she was a daughter of the late Everett Kell Hutchison and Annie Bell Gordon Hutchison. Mrs. Shillinglaw was the fourth born of five daughters. Iris graduated from Rock Hill High School and the College of Commerce.  She was a life-long member of India Hook United Methodist Church, where she was pianist for many years. 

     Iris is survived by her two children, Bobby C. Shillinglaw, Jr. (Anne), and Barbara Denise “Sue” Shillinglaw Steadman (Earl); a sister, Miriam H. Crenshaw; Great Grandson Jeremiah Thomas Steen-Sanders and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Carroll Shillinglaw, Sr.  Iris and Bob were married for 56 years before his death in 2015.

     The family will receive friends 2:00 pm Saturday, December 4, 2021, at Bass Cauthen Funeral Home and a memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm with the Rev. Michael Walker officiating. 

     In her spare time, you could find Iris fawning over her many love stories and romantic novels that she loved to indulge in, reading was a great passion of hers. Iris was also a devoted fan of the yearly Hallmark Christmas films, especially the ones with a touch of romance to them.
