James Falls Obituary

Rock Hill – Mr. James “Jimbo” Ray Falls, 85, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at Piedmont Medical Center.

A graveside service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Forest Hills Cemetery, Rock Hill, with the Rev. Jeffery McWatters officiating.

A native of Gastonia, NC, Mr. Falls was a son of the late Floyd A. Falls and Agnes Dedmond Falls.  He was an avid family man who loved to spend time with his family. He was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps.  He was a lifetime member of the Rock Hill VFW and a member of the American Legion.  He will be remembered as a huge Atlanta Braves fan, even scheduling his doctors appointment around games.  He was very excited about the fact that the Brave won the World Series this year.  He also loved NASCAR.  He never met a stranger and had the ability to talk to anyone.  To many he was known as the “Camouflage Man” because he operated a military surplus store.

Surviving are four daughters, Carolyn Hammond (Ken), Shirley Mosley, Barbara Archie, and Debbie Shaw (Vern); a brother, Bill Falls; two sisters, Mary Lewis and Rebecca Hudson; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Hubbard Falls, two sons, Johnny Archie and Mike Archie; two brothers, Jack Falls and Bob Falls; a grandson, Jamie Burris; and a great-granddaughter, Raina Burris.

Memorial donations may be made to the VFW, 732 Main Street, Rock Hill, SC 29730.
