James Samuel Kent entered into the presence of his Lord on June 22, 2020. He was at home with his family. “Sam” was born on September 26, 1937 in Branford, FL.
Sam worked in the construction industry throughout his life. For many of those years he owned and operated a business named “Sam’s Ornamental Iron Works and Welding.” Some of his work included hand rails, burglar bars, general iron working and repair of heavy machinery. He was a life member of The International Iron Workers Union and practiced the talent God gave him with skill and competence.
Sam and Collette for many years enjoyed traveling to Cape Cod in the summer to enjoy some time with family by the ocean.
Sam is survived by his wife, Collette Kent of Fort Mill, SC; son, James Kent and wife Lenny of Brooksville, FL; step children, Jane Ward of Fort Mill, SC, Beth Thompson and husband Mark of Kingston, MA and Mark Albertini and wife Sharon of Chattanooga, TN; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
A private Celebration of Life Service will be held by the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Fort Mill Church of God.
