Mary Elkins (Reel) Deese

Rock Hill – Mrs. Mary Reel Elkins Deese, 91, went home to be with the Lord, on Friday, January 15, 2021, at her home.

Graveside service will be private.

A native of Lincolnton, NC. Mrs. Deese was a daughter of the late Carl Luther Reel and Osie Long Reel.  She retired from Pharr Yarn in Clover, SC and was a past employee of J.P. Stevens and the Highland Park.  She was an active member of the VFW and Eastview Baptist Church. 

She is survived by her four sons, Steve Deese, Frank Elkins, Edward Elkins, and Tom Elkins; four daughters, Judy Parker, Louise Hubbard, Susan Boatwright, and Robin Turbeville; a brother, William Reel; a sister, Carolyn Parker; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husbands, Roy Deese and John F Elkins, Sr.; three daughters, Mary Morgan, Helen Hubbards, and Marie Roland; five brothers, Arlan Reel, Rev. O.B. Reel, Skid Reel, P.J. Reel and Alvin Reel; and four sisters, Azzle Beacham, Roberta Caldwell, Josephine Barns, and Glenda Ellis.
