Oscar Sample Lewis, Jr.

Blackstock, SC – Oscar Sample Lewis, Jr. passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC.

Born in Atlanta, GA, Mr. Lewis was a retired Accountant and Professor who taught Business Administration.  He was a past High School Referee and Umpire and enjoyed golf and loved history.  He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Chester Branch, where he loved to serve in various callings.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Housley Lewis, sons; Stephen Lewis (Tara) and Jeffrey Lewis (Carissa); daughters, Kelli Chen (Ming) and Kristin Brown (Brandon); 14 Grandchildren and 1 Great-Grandchild. 

He is preceded in death by his sister, Linda Dempsey.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Monday, December 7, 2020 at Whitesell Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Rock Hill Ward with Bishop Scott Wright officiating.  Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, 815 Chester Avenue, Great Falls, SC.

Memorial may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
