Rev. Burton Campbell, Jr. Obituary

Fort Mill, SC - Rev. Burton George Campbell, 86, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by friends and family Sunday, February 28, 2021.

 

The Campbell family would like to invite family and friends to come and join them for a Celebration of the life of B. G. Campbell, Jr. on April 30, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Lakeshore Christian Fellowship in Tega Cay, SC.  Pastor Gil Dirmann will preside. 

 

A native of Greensboro, NC, Rev. Campbell was the son of the late Burton George Campbell Sr. and Anne Hyatt Campbell. He pastored four churches in North Carolina and Virginia and was involved in ministry for over 60 years. He also was Vice President of the Community Group in Virginia Beach, VA.

 

B. G. Campbell, CMCA, AMS, PCAM, he was Chair-Elect and Senior Instructor for CAI's Professional Management Development Program courses.  He was named Educator of the Year in 1994.  He was past Chairman of CAI's Association Management Specialist, Managers Education and Managers Committees and served on the Builder/Developer Committee. He was active in the Southeastern Virginia Chapter of CAI.  He was also a Leadership Training Program Speaker and served on the Local Membership, Publicity and Managers Luncheon Committees. He was named the Chapter's Speaker of the Year in 1992. 

 

Surviving are his four sons, Burton George Campbell, III (wife, Kendis), Charles Dwight Campbell (wife, Lisa), Brett Ashburn Campbell (wife, Kathy), and Walter Eugene Campbell (wife, Rowena); 12 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Edith “Dianne” Dixon Campbell and a grandson, LCPL Benjamin Charles Campbell.

 

The family would like in lieu of flowers, for people to make memorial donations to Lakeshore Christian Fellowship.
