Rock Hill, SC – Mr. Robert Kell Garrison, 87, died Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at his home.
Memorial service will be 2:00 pm Sunday, September 10, 2023, at Aldersgate U.M.C., 2115 Celanese Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732. The family will receive friends following the service.
A native of Richburg, SC, Mr. Garrison was a son of the late William Westbrook Garrison and Mary Elizabeth Reid Garrison. His mother, Mary died when he was six months old and he was raised as the oldest son of his Aunt and Uncle, Doris and W.D. Garrison in Newport, SC. He was a member of the United States Air Force where he served as a Jet Aircraft Mechanic in the 4080 Strategic Recon Wing, SAC. He worked for 36 years in the paper and wood product industry. He was an active member of Aldersgate U.M.C where he was involved in the Friendship Bible Class.
Surviving are four daughters, Gloria H Roach (Richard), of Rock Hill, Kathy H Rollins of Glades Spring, VA, Teri G Wooden of Rock Hill, and Kelli G Dixon (Walt) of Rock Hill; two brothers, Walter Garrison and Ronnie Garrison; two sisters, Betty Maloney (Steve), and Lynda Williams (Jay), 9 grandchildren, Shelley Hopkins, Kim Parrish (Jeff) Ashley Ahn (Steve), Amy Clark, Brendan McCoy (Cara), Mallory Fast (Gage), Alex Wooden, Lee Wooden and Gray Shelley (Cassie); 22 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Hathcock Garrison; a grandson, Jason Roach; and a great-granddaughter, Marleigh Marcrom.
