Sheila (Liles) Cope

Indian Land – Mrs. Sheila Liles Cope, 69, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at Atrium Health Union, in Monroe, NC.

The family will receive friends 6 – 8 pm Friday, March 5, 2021 at Greater Life Baptist Church, 17025 Lancaster Hwy, Charlotte, NC 28277.  Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, March 6, 2021,  at Greater Life Baptist Church. (Services will be livestreamed on the church’s Facebook page and Palmetto Funeral Group Facebook page.)  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. 

A native of Charlotte, NC, Sheila was a daughter of the late James Liles and Virginia Kuykendoll Liles.  She was a member of Greater Life Baptist Church (formerly known as Independent Bible Baptist Church.)  She will be remembered as a lady who loved the Lord, her family, and her church.  Her greatest pleasure in life was to be a help meet to her husband, Daniel (Skeet) Paul Cope. She was a very talented lady.  Her many gifts included photography, painting, and crafting.  She used these gifts in great service to the Lord and will be remembered for all that she gave to those she loved. 

Surviving are five children, Robby Cope and his wife, Laurie, Karen Cope, Jason Cope, Andrea Cope Ramey and her husband, Dr. Jason Ramey, and David Cope; six grandchildren, Patrick Cope and his wife, Leslie, Charles Steffani, Sophia Cope, Terrence Brown, Reese Ramey, and Madden Ramey; one great-grandson, Easton Cope; a brother, Ray Hopper; and two sisters, Betty English and Delores Taylor.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel (Skeet) Paul Cope; four brothers, David Kuykendoll, Tommy Liles, Billy Liles, and James Liles.

The family would like to thank her many health care specialists but most especially, Dr. Erin Marcotsis with Barnett Family Practice.
