Fort Mill – Mrs. Sue Wood Cannon, 89, died Thursday, April 1, 2021, at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House.
The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Monday, April 5, 2021 at Whitesell Funeral Home.
A native of Greenville, SC Mrs. Cannon was a daughter of the late Grover Woodrow Wood and Martha Ayers Wood. She retired from Wachovia Bank after 20 years of service where she worked as the secretary to the Vice President. She loved to paint and teach her grandchildren the art of painting. She was an avid tennis player. She was a diehard North Carolina Tar Heel Fan. She will be remembered as a loving person who cared for all people. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Surviving are her two children, Neil Cannon and his wife, Janet, and Lisa Reid and her husband, Tracy; six grandchildren, Daniel Springs, Heather Cannon, Jessica Cannon, Shelby Briggs, Jordan Ruble and Emily Stymiest; and 11 greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Fred Wood, Billy Wood and Buford Wood.
