Sylvia Knuckles Raymond

Fort Mill – Mrs. Sylvia Knuckles Raymond, 64, passed peacefully in her home on Saturday, June 12, 2021.

The family will receive friends 6 – 8 pm Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Glenrock Baptist Church. 

A native of Fayetteville, NC, Mrs. Raymond was a daughter of the late William Douglas Knuckles and Maggie Lee Stewart Knuckles. Mrs. Raymond loved playing the piano, writing poetry, and photography.  She enjoyed going to the beach and collecting seashells.  She worked for L.E. Hamm paint company for 28 years and also did all the accounting and bookwork for her husband’s business, Steve Raymond Dry Wall Company for 10 years. 

Surviving are her son, Steven Raymond (Rebecca); caregiver-nephew, Gary Pence (Serena); three brothers, Arnold Knuckles, Archie Suggs, Ray Suggs; a sister, Lynda Knuckles Pence; three grandchildren, Jackson Fite, Madalynn Raymond, and Emma Raymond and many other nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Raymond; two brothers, Hubert Suggs and Roderick Knuckles; and a sister, Ann McCall. 

Memorial donation may be made to Homestead Hospice, 1590 Constitution Blvd, Rock Hill, SC 29732. 

Any flowers can be delivered to the home of Gary Pence, 1672 East Hensley Road, Fort Mill, SC 29715.
