For, and on behalf of my family, I sincerely appreciate the exemplary and compassionate service offered by Palmetto Funeral Home and Cremation Service. We lost a beloved husband, dad, granddad, brother-in-law and friend. Colonel Donald Garrett, USAF Ret., passed away after a lengthy illness before dawn onThursday, July 23.

I contacted Palmetto late Thursday morning, and by 5 PM Thursday afternoon, arrangements were completed for Don's funeral and cremation. I had the great fortune to work with Dayne Marsh, a gentleman that I can't begin to thank enough for his empathy, kindness, compassion, and professionalism.

On Friday afternoon, Dayne had arranged for our small family gathering to say goodbye to Don. Everything was perfect, and just as Dayne said it would be.

Having an organization like Palmetto, and Dayne, help us through this very sad event was comforting, and invaluable to me and all our family. Dayne continues to work with my sister, Don's wife, to help with other needs she may have as a result of his passing. Just a great, generous guy.

For anyone needing help with end of life arrangements, I sincerely, and with utmost respect, recommend Palmetto.

Thank you for the professionalism, caring hearts and outstanding service that was provided to my family. The compassion and professionalism of Palmetto's staff, Dayne, Jeff and Beth will always be so appreciated and treasured.

Palmetto made our family feel so at ease with every decision that was made. They were able to have the fine veterans of the American Legion participate and honor our dad during the uncertain times of the pandemic.

We could tell Palmetto's team had a great relationship with our church, Pastor and church staff. This made the service so much easier even through the COVID19 pandemic.

Not only was the staff so accommodating in preparation of arrangements, service at our church and graveside but Dayne and Beth were so helpful with our questions afterwards.

We can't say enough positive things about Palmetto. We will always highly recommend this organization, location and the compassionate staff.

God has blessed you all there. Death is a reality we all have to face. Like Doctors and Nurses it takes special people to deal with such stressful situations. I appreciate what you do. Thank you for being such a great friend to Woodrow (Rabbit). Thanks for making his memorial service so very special. We just wanted you to know that we have him buried in Pageland, SC. He is beside his parents and his brothers. They have already put his head stone down. It has a picture of a guitar on it.

My husband passed recently and like anyone else in that moment I was shocked. It was an unexpected death and also I am not from this area of the country, living here only a year. My family placed a few phone calls inquiring about prices for the type of service we were looking for. Costs of these services vary greatly from funeral home to funeral home if you take the time to investigate. I wanted a funeral home that had an onsite crematorium. Palmetto Funeral Home has that. In the phone calls we made that information isn't volunteered unless you ask. The body is transferred to another site. I didn't like that idea. Services that Palmetto Funeral Home offers are presented but not pushed. My family and I recommend the services offered by Derrick Robinson and his staff. We were very pleased.

It will soon be a year that we have laid my husband to rest. As the mark approaches and I reflect back on everything, I want to take a moment and let you know how much I appreciate the way you and your team handled everything. My daughter and I were guided through the process with grace and elegance. Never did we feel like we were being pressured to buy something or do something to benefit Palmetto Funeral Home. It was all about us. Furthermore, when I made an inquiry about something in November - a good eight months after we laid Dana to rest, your team went above and beyond to try and help me find what I was looking for, even offering your help for anything else I may need. And the tone it was offered in sounded genuine. I cannot express how meaningful all of this together is to us.

You could not have been more kind and professional, extending yourselves in unanticipated and deeply appreciated ways.
Please convey our "well done" to Michael Kimbal for his excellent help with music and his superb nuanced sense of what was needed. I am glad you thought of Michael as the one to recommend. And to those who handled the reception afterwards, it was just right. Being able to remain there at your lovely facility for the visitation through the reception made it so much easier and nicer for all concerned on that VERY warm day.
Thanks also for later delivering the death notices to my Dad so he wouldn't have to arrange another way for those to get to him at Unihealth Post-Acute Care where he is now finishing out the last phase of his physical therapy for that broken leg. He is doing well and looking forward to returning home in a few more weeks.

Thank you so much for helping me with Dad’s funeral. I was very tired and needed all the help and advice I could get on making decisions and you helped so much. Everything went good and looked good.
